Naya Daur

Set in post-independence India, the film details the life and turmoils of the poor coachmen and sawmill workers of a small town who earn their living through honest labour. Their livelihood is threatened when the son of a rich landlord mechanizes the sawmill and begins operating a bus service in the town, which he subsidises heavily to make a hefty profit. It is aimed to drive out the coachmen and the workers. Will the villagers fight against this technological intrusion or will they succumb to the new industrial age?
